Job Description

Working with Trylon's Field Services team, our Telecommunication Technician will be responsible for installation, commissioning and testing/troubleshooting of microwave and wireless systems. We have IMMEDIATE openings in our Langley BC office with travel within the province.  We offer competitive wages, per diem along with a clothing allowance, group benefits and a RRSP/DPSP plan.

Role Accountabilities:

  • Perform the installation of microwave and wireless radio equipment, including turn up and testing of Customer Premise/Transport equipment including AC/DC power plants.
  • Knowledge in the installation, maintenance, upgrades and modification of voice and data RF equipment and software applications. This includes but is not limited to equipment and applications from Ericsson, Harris Stradex, Alcatel/Lucent, Ceragon, NEC, Nokia Seimens and Huawei.
  • Interface directly with applicable, internal and external technical support groups to resolve issues for complex circuits, equipment, cables and facilities problems.
  • Perform Fibre Optic testing (OTDR), Fibre scoping and termination.
  • Perform PIM testing.
  • Maintains tools, test equipment and vehicle to ensure proper working order and adherence to safety regulations.
  • Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring some judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations to Technicians and/or supervisors.
  • Interprets and works from CAD drawings, engineering specifications, construction packages and other drawings.
  • Completes “As-Built' drawings during and at the completion of projects

Job Requirements

  • Technician/Technologist telecommunications degree or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years wireless telecommunications experience.
  • Have excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks to completion.
  • Ability to work independently and complete tasks successfully.
  • Strong attention to detail.
